We can represent you for the following matters:

    Child Abduction

Child abduction is a serious, but sometimes misunderstood, area of family law. Most people think it involves a stranger kidnapping a child. However, a mother taking her own child abroad for a short period of time and without the consent of the father may actually be guilty of child abduction in the eyes of the family law courts.

    Child Adoption

Whether you are a person wishing to adopt a child or the parent of a child being placed for adoption, we can help you through the process that will inevitably change your life and the lives of your children.

    Forced Marriage

A forced marriage occurs when either or both parties have been pressured into marrying, without giving their consent and some element of duress is involved. Duress can involve physical and sexual abuse or may involve psychological and emotional pressure. For example family members may insist that rejection of the marriage may bring shame to the family; or arrangements for the marriage may be made without the intended bride/groom being told the purpose of the trip. You have the right to choose who you marry, when you marry and if you marry at all.

    Female Genital Mutilation

The practice of Female Genital Mutilation was made illegal in the United Kingdom in 1985. Despite this, the abominable practice continues to the present day, with the first FGM Protection Order only being issued in July 2015. We all need to speak up about this act and protect those who are vulnerable from being harmed.

    Family Relocation

Following the breakdown of a relationship, decisions concerning the arrangements for a child can be the most difficult to make. This is especially so if one of the parents wishes to move to another country. Before a child can be taken out of the country to live, the written consent of every person with parental responsibility must be obtained. In the absence of consent, the permission of the court is required.
